Today I want to talk about who is Mark Hughes...

Mark Reynolds Hughes (January 1, 1956 – May 21, 2000)

WHO IS HE?
He was the Founder for Herbalife International Nutrition. 

WHY HERBALIFE?
His mother(JOAN) died of an accidental overdose of prescription diet pills when he was 18, which he claimed was the impetus for the founding of Herbalife.

Being a part time model and actress in L.A, Joan struggled with her weight for many years and finding a convenient and effective weight loss method as a single working mom in the late 1970's held little alternatives other than diet pills. Diet drugs are highly addictive, have terrible side effects and make it difficult to sleep so Joan also took sleeping pills and unfortunately she had an overdose and died.

Mark thought that there should be a safer way to achive healthy nutrition and weight loss and so made it his mission, in memory of his mother, to research and formulate a nutrition product of the highest safety standards and effectiveness. After months of hard work and meeting with top scientists in the field he came up with Herbalife's first and most widely recognised product -Formula 1 Nutritional Shake Mix- it's still the keystone of Herbalife Today, 33 years later.

In February 1980 at 23 years of age Mark got his first customer on the product, his granny Mimi, who lost 20 pounds and introduced 20 of her friends.

The word quickly spread that not only were people losing weight on this product but because their systems were being cleansed from the herbs, they started looking younger, getting more energy, blood pressure normalised and many other health benefits ensued and at the end of its first year Herbalife had sold more than US$2 million dollars.

And now Herbalife have Grown the business for US$4.8 Billion dollars in 2012 and this is show that Herbalife Nutrition product have help more than 2million satisfied people on the products in this world to get health and fit. Alhamdulillah, we glad have a person like Mark R. Hughes because his vision for Changing People's Lives - helping people manage their weight, regain their health and find financial prosperity- continues to thrive.
